Programs for Structural Engineers
Projects in various states of development:
- Structural Analysis Language
- Learning to write a simple recursive-decent parser that will allow me to develop a "programming language" to define a structure for analysis
- This is known as a Domain-Specific Language or DSL
- Figured I should include a bullet point for the project I have been spending most of my time on
- It is going to be the user-interface for everything else
- Stick around I'll show you what I mean
- Free structural analysis package
- Section property caclculation tool (this may become it's own standalone package)
- 2D and 3D elastic frame analysis
- Basic geometry tools including points and lines (may include shells in the future)
- Basic matrix decomposition (will probably use python libs but I find this stuff really interesting)
- User Defined Design Checks
- Moving load on a simply supported beam analysis tool
- General cross-section P-M interaction generation tool
- General cross-section stress and strain profile generation tool
- Standardarize structural analysis program input DSL
- In-plane eccentric shear connection elastic and plastic analysis tool
- AASHTO Design Checks
- AISC Design Checks
- ACI Design Checks
- AREMA Design Checks
